IMF Lowered Forecast For US GDP Growth This Year

The International Monetary Fund has lowered the forecast for US GDP growth because of uncertainty connected with the economic policy of Donald Trump.

According to the updated forecast, the growth of the world's largest economy will be 2.1% this year. This is better than last year, but below the previous forecasts of the IMF. During his campaign, Donald Trump stated that the US GDP growth would be 3%.

According to the IMF, the previous, more positive, forecast was based on Trump's promises to cut taxes and regulation, and to increase spending on infrastructure to promote economic growth.
