DAX Starts Week With Decrease
The German DAX index was down 0.18% and is trading at 12.611.50. The inflation rate in the Eurozone declined in the second quarter. The final consumer price index in the euro area fell from 1.4% to 1.3% in June. Inflation rates in Germany and the Eurozone are still well below the ECB’s target of 2%.
Data on the US CPI and retail sales showed a decline last week. The consumer price index rose to 0.0%, which is below the forecast of 0.1%. Retail sales decreased by 0.2%. The US GDP grew by 1.4% in the first quarter. If the US economy growth will also be weak in the second quarter, the dollar may drop significantly and provoke the euro's growth.
