Asian Shares Stay Unsteady at the Beginning of the Week
Stock indices of the Asia-Pacific region show a mixed trend. At the same time, the US dollar strengthened, but remained limited because of the political uncertainty in the United States.
Geopolitical tensions on the Korean peninsula negatively affect the mood of investors. Investors also analyze the PMI data in China, which showed that the country's industrial sector continued to expand in July, albeit at a slower pace.
The Japanese yen appreciated by about 0.2% to 110.42 yen against the dollar. Gold reached a more than 6-week maximum at the beginning of Monday and traded slightly below $1269.86 level.
