DAX Index Lost Growth Momentum
Germany's DAX stock index fell 0.02% today and is trading at 13.162.50. The DAX index showed good results and grew by 1.8% this week. Today, the Eurozone will publish data on the consumer confidence index, which is expected to remain at -1 points.
Political uncertainty in Germany continues. Chancellor Angela Merkel could not form a new coalition government, as the Free Democratic Party withdrew from the coalition negotiations. President Frank-Walter Steinmeier called on the parties to make every effort to reach an agreement, and warned that other elections could cause uncertainty both in Germany and in Europe.
Speaking before the Committee of the European Parliament, ECB President Mario Draghi said that economic growth in the Eurozone continues, and employment stays at a record high. Draghi also said that the ECB policy is aimed at making Eurozone inflation grow.
