Janet Yellen Officially Resigned From the Fed

The current chairman of the Federal Reserve System Janet Yellen, will leave the Board of Governors of the US central bank, when her successor will be sworn in as chairman of the Fed. With this statement, Yellen stops all speculation about the fact that she could remain in the position at the Fed.

Yellen’s term as a Fed governor was to expire in 2024. In October, President Trump decided not to appoint Yellen for a second term as chairman of the Fed, despite the good performance of the Central Bank in the first four years of operation. In her statement, Janet Yellen noted the growth of the US economy over the past eight years, saying that 17 million jobs were created.
