Economic Productivity in Britain Rose in Q3 2017

Economic productivity in the UK rose at the fastest pace in more than six years in three months before the end of September. Data from the Office for National Statistics showed that production per hour increased by 0.9% in the third quarter of 2017 compared to three months earlier, and this is the biggest increase since the second quarter of 2011.

Last year, the UK economy slowed, despite strong global growth, as the fall of the pound following the Brexit vote in 2016 caused inflation to rise, which damaged consumer spending.
