Robert Kaplan Is Optimistic About Fed Rate Hikes
Fed members share positive expectations about the economy. Today, Robert Kaplan (Dallas Fed President) said that Fed will should execute 3 or 4 rate hikes, as they would match the economic condition. The Fed President doesn’t expect any slowdowns and recent drops in shares can’t change his positive outlook. Kaplan stressed that all policy accommodations must be done gradually and carefully. He sees improved economic growth and low jobless rate as the main drivers for such a strategy. Dallas Fed President projects that in 2018 the full employment will be achieved and the growth will show significant development.
