The Sentiment Is Cheerful
US shares have noticeably reinforced, as a response to Friday’s jobs data and Donald Trump’s order to impose steel and aluminum tariffs. The jobless rate marked a minimum of seventeen years. This week’s major market events will be US Consumer Price Index and retail sales release.
Donald Trump keeps pushing his tariffs on steel and aluminum import. Cecilia Malmström (European Commissioner for Trade) and Robert Lighthizer (U.S. Trade Representative) discussed Trump’s order. No consensus has been reached. The US President decided to attack the EU, which wasn’t a surprise. Trump stated: “the European Union, wonderful countries who treat the U.S. very badly on trade, are complaining about the tariffs on Steel & Aluminum. If they drop their horrific barriers and tariffs on U.S. products going in, we will likewise drop ours. Big Deficit. If not, we Tax Cars etc. FAIR!”.
