China's Commerce Ministry Ready To Respond on US Attacks
Chinese commerce ministry stated that trade negotiations with the US are unlikely due to Washington's position in this issue. Gao Feng (Commerce Ministry spokesman) noted: "It is not a matter of whether China is willing to participate in the negotiations. It is about the U.S. not showing sincerity at all".
The ministry added that if Donald Trump keeps accusing China in stealing the trade secrets of U.S. firms and forcing them into joint ventures to acquire their technology, the latter will immediately respond with retaliation measures.
Yesterday, Xi Jinping (China President) promised to open up China’s financial markets and reduce import duties on automobiles. Trump said he was "thankful" for Xi's decision, adding that US and China will "make great progress together".
