Chinese Q1 Trade Surplus To US Soared

In the first quarter of 2018, Chinese trade surplus with the US increased 19.4% to 58.25 billion dollars, comparing to Q1 2017. According to Reuters calculations based on official data, China's March trade surplus with the U.S. dropped to 15.32 billion dollars, from February’s 20.96 billion dollars.

At a briefing in Beijing, spokesman Huang Songping reported China's exports to the United States were up 14.8% comparing to the same period in 2017 while imports from the United States grew 8.9%.
