Japan and China Warn About Trade War
China and Japan concluded their high-level economic negotiation. Both countries came to conclusion that the trade war will severely harm the global economy. Taro Kono (Japanese Foreign Affairs Minister) said the concern about potential US-China trade war is pressing. "We have shared understanding that a trade war, no matter which country has brought it about, would have a very large impact on the prosperity of the international economy," Kono added.
Next week, Shinzo Abe (Japanese Prime Minister) and the US President Donald Trump will meet at the summit. Also, China Premier Li Keqiang go to Japan for a Japan-China-South Korea summit. And then Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will visit China while Chinese President Xi Jinping will also visit Japan. Taro Kono said Japan might work with China on Beijing's Belt and Road projects.
