US And China Are Preparing To Continue Trade Negotiations
Representatives of the US government said that a meeting of US and Chinese officials will take place today. This meeting will be held as part of the follow-up to the high-level talks last week in Beijing and in preparation for the visit of Vice Premier Liu to Washington.
The Chinese side received a letter from the US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, in which the minister invites the Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, Liu He, to come to the US to continue economic and trade negotiations. This was reported on Wednesday by the China’s Commerce Ministry.
Previously, high-ranking officials of the two countries could not resolve all differences at the meeting in Beijing. The Trump’s administration threatened to impose import duties on Chinese goods worth up to $150 billion, accusing Beijing of misappropriating US technology and stealing intellectual property.
