US and Japan To Work On Better Trade Relationship
Toshimitsu Motegi (Japanese Economy Minister) announced that the US President Donald Trump and Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will have the first bilateral trade negotiation in Washington next week. The meeting will focus on the idea of "free, fair and reciprocal" trade. The meeting was set up on concerns about Trump’s protectionist policy, which in turn causes threat to Japan’s trade surplus.
Japanese Economy Minister also expressed his acceptance for Britain to join the TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership) trade agreement. The Minister said: "According to our calculations, the combined gross domestic product(GDP) of the TPP-11 and the UK will be totally the same with the GDP of the EU minus the UK. It's indeed going to be an engine of Japan's economic growth."
