Euro Dips Below $1.15 Level, US NFP Report Next
Euro continues to show losses versus US dollar. Today, the euro/dollar pair is trading at 1.1494, having lost 0.18% on the day. The single currency ended Thursday with an 0.55% gain against the greenback, paring some losses after slipping six sessions in a row. Since the beginning of the month, the euro is down about 0.8% against the dollar.
German industrial orders increased by 2% mom In August, compared with a decline of -0.9% in the previous month. On an annualized basis, production orders fell by -2.1% in August after a less significant decrease of -0.8% in July. German producer price index (PPI) rose by 0.3% mom and 3.1% yoy in August.
The US will release key employment data today. Nonfarm payrolls (NFP) is expected to fall from 201 thousand in August to 185 thousand in September. The jobless rate is expected to tick down to 3.8%. Average hourly earnings are forecast to have risen 0.3% in September, a 2.8% gain year-on-year.
