DAX Dips Once Again
European stocks fall on Tuesday. The German DAX stock index dropped by 0.47% to trade at 11.328 level. The DAX has started the week with significant gain, adding 1.45% on Monday.
Analysts are still skeptical about the prospects for a trade deal between the US and China after US President Donald Trump said that he is likely to increase the punitive tariffs on Chinese goods worth $200 billion. Trump also threatened to introduce tariffs on all remaining Chinese imports, if the upcoming trade negotiations do not lead to a deal.
Investors are also focused on a speech by Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, which will take place on Wednesday, and minutes from the Fed’s November 7-8 meeting, to be released on Thursday, for further indications of how many more times the US central bank is likely to hike interest rates.
