Strengthening of US Dollar Continues

The US dollar strengthens after positive economic data. Recovery of the dollar began after yesterday's FOMC decision on interest rate. Initial jobless claims in the US fell by 8k to 237k in the week ended June 10. Continuing claims increased by 6k to 1.935m.

The Bank of England has kept the rate unchanged at 0.25%, and the asset purchase program at GBP 435b. This decision supported the pound, which rose sharply against the US dollar. Retail sales in the UK fell more than expected, by 1.2% mom in May.

The monetary policy of the Swiss National Bank has also remained unchanged. The interest rate was maintained at -0.75%. The central bank kept the inflation forecast for 2017 unchanged at 0.3%.
