British Pound Has Strengthened its Positions

The British pound has strengthened after the statement of the BoE’s representative Andy Haldane. The politician said that the risks of tightening monetary policy declined too early, as growth and inflation showed greater resilience than expected. According to Haldane, an increase in the interest rate may occur sooner than the markets expect.

The ECB noted that the US, China and Brexit are new sources of risk. The ECB pointed to the potentially protectionist direction of the US new administration, which could have a significant negative impact on the world economy.

BoJ Governor Haruhiko Kuroda said that the economy is on a more stable basis, but Japan is still far from the goal of inflation of 2%.
