US Dollar Has Strengthened Mildly
The US dollar is recovering slightly. The US currency weakened at the end of last week after news that North Korea is preparing to test another missile that could reach the West Coast of the United States.
The Caixin/Markit services PMI, which is a leading indicator of the state of the services sector of China, was 50.6 points in September after growth to 52.7 in August. This is the lowest since December 2015. Economists had expected the growth of the indicator to 53.1.
A number of officials of the US central bank are also scheduled to perform this week. In addition, the Fed will issue a protocol for its September meeting on Wednesday. Data on the US CPI will be published on Friday.
