Greenback’s Attempt to Recommence
The greenback is trying to reinforce. But, the currency stays rather weak. S&P 500 and NASDAQ hit maximums of 26951.81 and 7006.90. DOW rose 104.79 points (0.42%) to 24824.01. 10 year yield jumped 0.06 and closed at 2.465. The yellow metal broke 1320 handle but it has slightly softened today. WTI crude oil is staying over 60 handle.
British government is considering joining the Trans-Pacific Partnership after Brexit. This Partnership includes such countries as Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam. European Central Bank’s officials confirmed that the QE program might be finished this year, considering a good shape of the economy. Today, leaders of Christian Democratic Union will meet to elaborate a strategy in the negotiation with Social Democratic Party, which is scheduled for January 7.
Today, the FOMC will release a protocol of December meeting, Swiss will announce PMI manufacturing, Britain will show construction PMI, Germany will present unemployment numbers and US will publish ISM manufacturing.
